www.sebarra-parindu.desa.id. Rantau Perapat, Rabu 3 Mei 2023. GERDAL (Gerakan Pengendalian Organisme Pengganggu Tumbuhan) merupakan program yang bertujuan untuk mengendalikan hama dan penyakit pada tanaman agar dapat meningkatkan produktivitas pertanian secara berkelanjutan. Kelompok tani Setia Kawan di Rantau Prapat desa Sebarra adalah salah satu kelompok tani yang aktif dalam mengikuti kegiatan GERDAL yang disampaikan oleh nara sumber dari Petugas POPT kecamatan Parindu.
Pada kegiatan GERDAL di kelompok tani Setia Kawan, fokus utama adalah membasmi hama tikus yang sering menjadi masalah di wilayah tersebut. Dalam kegiatan ini, Petugas POPT kecamatan Parindu memberikan pelatihan kepada anggota kelompok tani tentang cara-cara yang tepat untuk membasmi hama tikus. Selain itu, mereka juga memberikan informasi tentang jenis-jenis hama tikus yang sering menyerang tanaman dan cara-cara pencegahannya.
Selanjutnya, kedepan anggota kelompok tani Setia Kawan bisa melakukan tindakan nyata dalam mengendalikan hama tikus di lahan pertanian mereka. Mereka menggunakan metode-metode yang telah dipelajari dalam pelatihan, seperti pemasangan perangkap dan pembuatan lubang-lubang untuk memancing tikus keluar dari sarangnya. Selain itu, mereka juga menggunakan cara-cara yang ampuh seperti yang telah disampaikan.
Dalam kegiatan GERDAL, kelompok tani Setia Kawan juga melakukan monitoring terhadap kondisi tanaman mereka untuk memastikan bahwa tidak ada serangan hama atau penyakit yang merusak. Jika terjadi serangan hama atau penyakit, mereka segera mengambil tindakan pencegahan yang diperlukan untuk mencegah penyebaran.
Melalui kegiatan GERDAL, Kepala desa Sebarra Yosep Sudirman berharap kelompok tani Setia Kawan di Rantau Prapat desa Sebarra bisa berhasil mengendalikan hama tikus dan meningkatkan produktivitas tanaman mereka. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga membantu para petani untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mereka dalam mengendalikan hama dan penyakit pada tanaman.
Harapan Yosep Sudirman juga bahwa kegiatan GERDAL dapat terus dilakukan secara berkelanjutan untuk mendukung pertanian yang berkelanjutan di Indonesia.
